A REAL SQUEAKER

Congratulations to last night's winners and a 'nice try' to those that didn't make. If its your first time running, don't be discouraged. Many of those who eventually win lost their first race.

The Democratic primary for mayor isn't over yet. Five votes separate Rodney Wiltshire and Patrick Madden so it will come down to...wait for it...absentee ballots. There are 116 absentee ballots* and we'll just have to wait.

When absentee ballots decide a race we get treated to the usual challenges and cries of fraud etc. Good times, good times.

It shouldn't be this close. Wiltshire ran a very good get-out-the-vote operation. If Madden's was as good he would have walked away with a win. Now, we predict a Wiltshire win. We could be wrong,** but we find it hard to believe Madden worked the absentee's as well as Wiltshire.

If it is Wiltshire, Gordon is doomed. It will be hard for the Republican to compete against a Democrat with two lines. Which leads to another interesting set-up. Wiltshire could be stuck with a council that is less than friendly. There will be no Team Troy winner in Council District 1,2,3,6 or At-Large.

Typical Troy. At least you can't say it's predictable.

* Not including those being filled out as we speak

** The last time we were wrong was three years ago when we said we were wrong

Have to disagree. Wade said he knows who the absentees are from. Madden pulls it out. Wade hasn't been wrong yet. Then it's still a three way race. Rodney will do everything he can to suck votes from Madden/Wade. Mayor elect Jim Gordon folks...get use to it. I told you all the the stars are lining up for Gordon. Remember Rodney like Gordon more than any Tom Wade Democrates. Harry gone 4 years now.

So glad that Troy Polloi came back for all of this. Buckle up because Rodney and Team Troy are going to try every way possible to challenge the votes and the voting process. Oh, and Russell Ziemba had to be ejected from a polling site for being obnoxious. What a shock!

I don't get you. You tear Rodney a new one you think he'll win then you congratulate the winners. Why are you congratulating the people you didn't want to win. Like bids ember or Daugherty?

Because they have some class and know it's business, not personal. Nothing they said about Rodney was wrong or a personal attack. Unlike some others I lnow

It does look like Madden will have enough absentees. If not, Rodney would be declaring victory.

Will Rodney man-up and help the Democrat win? Is Rodney no longer a Democrat?

Hey, the outsider actually won, beating the elected official. Way to go Pat!

Rodney man-up? Not likely. Been 4 days since his eleventh hour, sleaze bag, puppet mailer and he hasn't said a word about it. Won't take credit for it or deny it. I know of at least 3 undecideds who went for Madden because of it. One formerly undecided voter called it "obscene" Way to go WFP!

Yeah Rodney lost a lot of votes because of that flyer. Might not have happened if he hadn't blatantly lied about it on Madden's fb page the day before. It probably cost him the primary. Word is the absentees will go in Madden's favor.

Bottom line. No matter how many misfits and freaks Rodney recruits, he's a loser and the party knew it. Now the people of Troy know it. Goodbye Rod.

Harsh, Vito. Exactly what people mean when they say politics has become ugly.

I would like to correct 9:25s statement. Russell Ziemba was NOT ejected from the RPI polling site for being obnoxious, although he certainly was. Based on complaints from the poll workers about him, the Democrat district leader came to the poll and publicly called him out for being an unethical and deceitful turncoat, and ordered the Democratic workers to ignore all instructions and requests from Ziemba. That put him in his place, but Ziemba was allowed to remain there all day.

At least he's out hustling and getting a job on his own and not needing handout jobs from his buddies like you Vito!

Harry is so pitiful. Yes he has been gone 4 years, but does Harry really need to finish every post he writes with "been gone 4 years now" ? What a loser

How can anyone know who's on the absentee ballots, if there's 105 then Rodney need 56 votes, not at all unheard of

Thanks for the correction about Ziemba. Obnoxious, yes, ejected, no. Got it. Love the phrase "deceitful turncoat"

The BOE knows who requested absentees and who submitted absentees. Not a secret. After that, it's really an assumption that people you know voted the way you believe they would. There might still be some surprises. Educated guess work.

I don't get all the whining about the mailer. As "attacks" go, it was relatively mild. I thought Pat made a mistake by drawing even more attention to it.

You are correct to salute Rodney for his hustle. However, if you understood half the challenges Vito faced from work - related issues, you would retract the vitriol.

He's got good stuff to help him relax, man
