Joe Mazzariello, the City of Troy's acting Comptroller, passed away yesterday due to a heart attack.
Mazzariello had worked for the City for more than thirty years and was set to retire on today. He had been working on a part-time basis. he was sixty-four years old.

Joe worked 90% of his life away.....He was a dedicated family man who gave his all to everything......It is so sad to lose him and even more sad he never knew a day of retirement. His employees will always remember him for his work ethic and quiet demeanor. His family should know that it was all for them, he was a proud family man. From this, we should all take away that life should not be all about your career without rest and family time. I wish him peace in the after life....Rest now Joe, we got it from here....until we meet again
