SINKHOLE WATCH

As the nation holds its collective breath, we enter Day 10 - Sinkhole Watch!

Last week, City Hall announced that repairs would be completed by Friday evening and Campbell Avenue re-opened to traffic. The administration was unable to fulfill that promise as negotiations with the sinkhole hit a setback on Thursday. No new timetable has been announced.

Crowds have gathered at the sinkhole to protest. Chants of "Madden lied, traffic died" could be heard as the crowd grew angry. Another citizen told this reporter: "We don't want no sinkhole." Impeach Madden signs could be seen in the crowd. The feeling is one of betrayal.

Meanwhile, citizens have begun to hoard food and other necessary supplies. Bottled water, Skittles, rifles and Gogurt flew off the shelves immediately following the news that repairs have stalled. Prayer groups have been formed.

Mayor Madden will address the nation tonight at 9:00PM EST.

COMISSIONER OF PLANNING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Former Councilman and Commissioner of Economic Development Bill Dunne has left the administration. His last day was February 29, 2016. Dunne was a four-term councilman (District 4) and was Commissioner PAED for four years, under former Mayor Rosamilia. According the Mayor Madden, his administration wanted to "go in a different direction." No replacement has been found.

Dunne, a stalwart Democrat, won the enmity of the Tutunjian Administration by the constant questioning of Tutunjian's dodgier activities. Economic development boomed under Dunne's watch and his office was often seen as a bright spot in the Rosamilia Administration. Dunne, sometimes seen as abrasive, won his share of enemies in the past twelve years: Mayor Tutunjian, David Mitchell, Daniel Crawley, Rodney Wiltshire and Mark McGrath.

Dunne's public career did have some bumps in the road: numerous 911 calls from his home; Division of Human Rights Complaints, Civil Law suits, Unemployment Fraud, voter fraud, perjury, pay-to-play corruption charges, DWI charges, cholera outbreak, ...oh, wait, those were other public servants.

Dunne has been appointed a Contractor Manager by the New York State Construction Fund and begins his new employment March 15. He will be missed. A true public servant who placed Troy's needs above his own.

One of Dunne's last achievements was to help secure a FEMA grant to repair Troy's seawall, damaged during Tropical Storm Irene.

With Dunne's departure, the Rosamilia appointees are now gone. The only one who remains, is Deputy Comptroller Joe M, who is working part-time until a Comptroller is appointed.

Yes, shame on Bill Dunne for having the balls to pull Harry's horrendous proposal. We dont need public housing at the new sight. Which explains why Tut lied about the inclusion of the low income housing. Bill stood up Tut and company when it came to what was best for Troy. And you humps hate him for it.

That needed to be repeated and to it I'll add that Harry let 2 of his admin's henchmen free early to pave the way for that taxpayer planned rape.

Good luck, Bill.

Has Dunne paid off his tax warrants. Oops. Wrong guy.

Dunne won and a handful of pukes hate him. Who is at the reins now? Isn't Monica already overworked by Madden.

Throughout his tenure at city hall, Dunne was underrated and overly criticized for speaking up. Don't know why he is being replaced, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" His departure is Troy's loss.

Joe M. is not a Rosamilia appointee. He's been in City Hall(s) for decades.

Don't worry Bill, Madden will be calling you in a week.

Bill was loyal to Madden during the campaign and was instrumental in him beating Rodney in the primary (45 votes). Madden now discards Bill and won't return calls from the very people who got him elected. I see one term.

Bill did not get Madden elected although he supported him. Madden froze out many who could have helped him, including Wade, and relied upon the old Democratic machine. Madden forgets that, if conspiracy theories are true, he would have lost to Wiltshire but for Wade and Everett. Madden probably identifies more with the national Democratic Party rather than they local party. Too low brow for him.

Madden probably identifies more with the rest of his family. All those Republicans. Being a Democrat was just a convenience for running. Anyone who doesn't believe that is pretty damn naive.

Don't know about that. It will be interesting to see if he can stand outside the party, govern and keep party support. You got to dance with the one that brung 'ya.

Dune is a good guy. Doesn't lie, didn't use government to punish political opponents and was never afraid of a fight. That is why Tutunjian and Mirch and their bitches always attacked him. If you are to be judged by your enemies, Dunne should be proud.

Madden was the better option from a very shallow pool. Could you imagine if one of the others got lucky and won?

Is that why he is out of a job, because he's such a stand up dude?

Madden didn't want him. Didn't want Silverman either. So what? Is Madden supposed to keep all of Rosamilia's people? He has the right to go with his own people. Chances are, Monica didn't want Bill around. He knows more than her about planning and development and would be a much better deputy mayor. No one like to have more qualified people reporting to them.

Monica could be a good deputy mayor or good in Dunne's job but he'd be better and Pat has her trying to do both. A tall order for anyone. Madden should have kept him. If he dumped because of the Council, that's weak.

I could never figure out why a handful of people hate Dunne so much. There are so many more people in this County worthy of hate. Dunne doesn't even make the list. Madden should have kept him in the administration. He's a good guy.

your just probably not a good judge of character.

No, I am not. I voted for Harry and Mirch once. I needed a twelve step to find myself again. Dunne is honest, no 911 calls, no harassment complaint's like Crist, no DWI's. Sounds good to me.

Monica's weak. Very weak.

what about his last job?? I believe there was some accusation of wrongful behavior.
