NEWS ROUND-UP

Due to the paucity of any sweet and meaty stories that one can sink their teeth into, here's a news round-up.

District 5 Councilwoman Lynn Kopka was selected to lead the Democratic Council minority by a vote of 3-0. Not much now, but in two years...

Mayor Patrick Madden has a financial advisory committee, members include William Schroeder, Nancy Burton, Jeffrey Nesich, Martin Dunbar and Owen Goldfarb. The committee was to meet with the mayor every Saturday before Mantello changed it to Sundays.

Some Troy residents received duplicate tax bills in keeping with the tradition of Fucked Up tax bills. This time the amount was correct.

More information on the Marshall Ray Building: For those worried that it is another not-for-profit, it isn't. There is no construction timeline because the owners are awaiting approval for permits and licenses from the New York State Department of Health.

Michael J. Fox was arrested for murder in the recent Watervliet 'Stand Off.'  Tina Yothers is sought for questioning.

Finally, the Troy City Council has posted their schedule of meetings as well as the television schedule. No schedule for Finance Committee meetings has been posted.

Kopka in two years? Either crushed by Zalewski or crushed by Carmella. She wouldn't even get past a primary.

Wow how lame. What was it a long night at Kenny Z Golden Globe party? Lynn that the equivalent of pissing your self in black pants. You get a warm feeling but no one notices.

Considering that Lynn barely survived a challenge by a Zalewski sub, and Lynn will hardly be doing anything noteworthy or popular in the next two years, I would guess if KZ makes an effort, he should easily unseat her. Love him or hate him, he remains quite popular in his district.

Could Mayor Madden have possibly gotten more govt insiders on the Finance Committee? Clearly relatively bright and qualified people, but how about at least one ardent taxpayer advocate? While our ranks are dwindling in the City, there are plenty of Neanderthals still remaining. Three of the five appear to be the Who's Who of How to Raise Taxes.

Glad to see for the time being that the proposed Paz project will be on the tax rolls. I am still concerned about the amount of services the project will require, but it does beat a deteriorating building. This should NOT qualify for any PILOTS whatsoever, since it will clearly require some police presence, and will likely be a frequent user of EMS.

Doesn't the Michael Hoffler re-trial start today? Who is left to handle that in the DA's office?

All I hear is crickets.

Kopka got past a primary in 2015.
Kopka got more votes than Mantello in 2013.
Call off your jockeys, Seabiscuit, and tell Rodney same.
Uncle Joe can't get you a $100k bullshit job in two years.
Enjoy the responsibility you have no qualifications for.

Defending Lynn while making a remark about Carm's appearance(albeit somewhat cleverly) is quite the paradox. Perhaps some additional consideration to the subjects of a post are in order prior to future posts.

6.22, perhaps a remedial course in reading comprehension is in order. Would you kindly point out the offending edict, and where I said, or led you to infer I was offended? Have someone capable explain the OP. Sadly, your deductive reasoning skills are no better. If you like, I could have the melanin-enriched Mrs. Phana provide you with the necessary guidance.

Ah @6:22 nice to have you back. I miss the days of Cox, Coop, Mcrat and Oconnor. Makes me feel warm all over.

Being a pompous elitist AND a NASCAR fan?
Now THAT'S a paradox!

And for what it's worth, Cratus, I don't think that the posts that include a reference to a sex act are of any value here. Your writing style leads me to believe you would want your blog to be above that.

Just sayin'...

12.44 What the hell do two doctors have to do with this? There is nothing more hilarious than accusing me of being a pompous elitist. My wife constantly nags me for my complete lack of sophistication and non-work wardrobe. I am far more comfortable at The Ale House or Sticks than one of her snooty restaurants.

Do you guys know if you get arrested for a tax warrant or is it just a criminal warrant? !~~!

No arrest with a tax warrant. You are just a loser who can't get a car or home loan and responsible people have to pick up the slack. It's like you're a welfare recipient. A deadbeat.

Perp walk this week. No, maybe last week. No, sorry, it's now next week. Seventy five cops, nine ada's and everyone in the administration going on a perp walk. FBI in town, arrested everyone two years ago. Hug cell phone, will get death penalty. Now I have to pay my back taxes. What happened to my former business partner? Why did my ex flee out of state? What did she know. Boom, Tango down.
