NEW COMMISH...

...CONTINUED

James Franco (loved him in Freaks & Geeks) dug-up some good background on the presumptive Commissioner of Planning & Economic Development. According to the Talk 1300 Report:

According to The Gazette, James Livingston bashed Strichman, a zoning officer, at a public comment section of a Council meeting for not enforcing the city code in a strict enough manner.
Strichman, in turn, sent a code enforcement officer to Livingston’s Gillespie Street home.
Livingston was cited for “house numbers that were two inches too small and for peeling paint on the porch eaves and soffits,” according to the story.

Then Mayor Brian Stratton confirmed to the newspaper “Livingston’s house was the only building cited in that neighborhood that day.”

Livingston installed larger numbers on his house. It’s unclear if he gave it a paint job.
“That’s pretty scary. Anything of this sort has a chilling effect,” Livingston told The Gazette. “The message would be, the public shouldn’t come out and speak … The aim is perhaps to scare or intimidate a resident who has simply asked a city official to do his job and do his job well.”

Franco also pointed out, as we did, that the previous administration officials that served on these boards did not receive a salary. Is Strichman so good that he warrants a $15,000 pay bump? We'll see.

If the Gazette story is accurate (and who really believes the damned liberal media) Strichman sounds like a Tutunjian  nomination. Why wouldn't the Republicans support this choice? Two jobs, political retribution...sound familiar?

I wonder how Monica is taking this? She could have taken this job and left a lot of bullshit out of her life. The last person to make a mistake as big as Monica was Peyer Ryan when he left the county legislature. I guess she's in good company. Hard to believe this guy makes more money than Monica.

As a Troy union employee I find this whole thing disgusting. We have had no contracts for four years yet the new mayor hires one of his friends and gives him a 15000 raise. At least the Tutunjian people gave us contracts.

Does this guy getting paid about $91,000 even live in Troy ?

He has purchased property in Troy to rehab according to one of the reports I read. Doesn't really matter yet though since appointed officials are not yet required to live in Troy. Another Mirch might not be a bad thing. Well, at least not as bad as another Dunne would be.

This goes to show that Monica is ever bit as power hungry as anyone else. She's willing to forfeit $15k just for that power.

Why has this blog become so quiet?

12:10 that statement makes no sense. If anything she's being upstaged both in salary and power.

How many where interviewed. How many where offered an additional 15000 how many were actually considered. This was decided from day one

The Mayor is entitled to his pick. Why would he have to interview a lot of people. It's an appointment. Maybe it was decided from day one, like Crawley as Deputy Mayor? You sound silly and ignorant.

6:32. Ok but what about the $15k kicker? Why the secret? So he came with demands?

PS. The phone line are burning up between Troy and Schenectady about this man and it's not good. He will not be confirmed. So what will the next guy be promised?

Crawley is hiring Jack Mcamm because he thinks it will save him. He's a garbage can without Harry.

The city finally gets rid of Dunne and hires another one? Bad news out of Schenectady. Good job Lou II.

Then why put it out there. Poor fama

No idea if he is good or not. If he's good, however, he's probably worth the $91,000. If he's not good, he's not worth the 75k without the Board compensation. One of the problems Troy has is that someone with the level of skill and experience it needs in its appointees can generally get more money elsewhere with fewer hassles (i.e., fewer potshots taken by ignorant blowhards). If mid to high five figure salaries seem like a sweetheart deal, you probably aren't well qualified for the position.

Kathy told Pat "this guy is bad news" so Pat hires a women from South Troy who no one knows. Good strategy?

Stay tune more to come about mismanagement Madden new Bill Dunne.

The Mayor is entitled to his pick. The financial games are not impressive, but if the guy does well, that will be forgotten.

If he's as good as Dunne he'll be worth the money.

Dunne was a good man. Pat should have extended an offer. He was too caught up in what a few haters said.

Dunne was a disaster.

Anything new with our "Rogue DA" ?

Saw him marching in a parade yesterday. I think he's just a dummy who doesn't know he's on the way out.
