MORE FUN

The meeting fiasco gets funner and funnerer.

Dear Rodney

As in the case for the last four years, as I outlined in my correspondence today, you have violated the city charter on numerous occasions and now you are misinterpreting and misunderstanding what the charter states. Pertaining to business on January 1, 2016 please note that the city council of Schenectady is holding their organizational meeting on January 1, 2016 which clearly shows you can do city business on
January 1.

I trust that you will spend some time in the future studying the Troy city charter.

Once again, good luck in your new endeavors.

Dear Carmella,
The fact that Schenectady is having a meeting on Jan 1, is of no consequence or relation to what Troy does.  I hope you understand we are a separate municipality.  Additionally, having a council meeting, is separate from the daily operations of city government.

Final reminder, only the clerk can call or notice a meeting, not a member of the council, or the council secretary.  And posting notices in city hall on the glass cases don't count either.

Rodney

Really love the 'glass case' comment. Very funny. Also, high sarcasm marks for the out-going City Council President. Nice touch.

Not a good start for Mantello. She looks petty, stubborn and ill-informed. Unequipped to run a middle school class government meeting. Or, perfectly equipped, come to think about it.

If we were Mayor Madden we would certainly not want anything before the Council at Monday's meeting. Everything done at that meeting will be not just null, but void. Certainly voidable. We'd also shave the beard because we don't like facial hair. To Rutherford B. Hayes for us.

Poor Rodney is having a hard time leaving office? Well this is the site to go to for there are other irrelevant losers to commiserate with. "Null and Void" I could swear that sounds like the same type of legal advice Lou accepted on the frozen pipe fiasco.

Maybe Carmella could hold the Monday meeting over in Schenectady? Still waiting to know the burning reason that Carmella would ruffle so many feathers, right out of the gate, to change the date of a meeting by 4 days? Please Carmella tell us WHY? To 8:24.....great question, "She can't be that dumb, can she?" I guess we all just have to stay tuned.

I hope you all understand that theirs only about 8 of you out here that give a fuck about this. We have been waiting for the last four years to be over and your bitching about an organizational meeting. Talk about high school you should grow the fuck up. I could give a fuck about this issue. She thinks it the legal way to do it from her interpretation of the charter than so be it. This has nothing to do with my pocket. You just all pissed of that she and several other republicans won. Get the fuck over it already. After the last 2 years bullshit I think it's refreshing to see that she's looking at the charter. You've been killing Rodney threw this election but now your ready to embrace him because he going threw separation anxiety already. You need to move the fuck on. Now you can start with "don't read the blog then" bullshit.

Can't get over how grown people are like children. I am sorry for insulting a lot of children too. TROY and Rensselaer county in general are this biggest joke when it comes to politics in the capital region. Yes, Rodney is just mad because he became a NOBODY as of January 1, 2016. Rodney still has his Hoodlum friends he supported from the hood when the cops got shot. Don't forget about the Glicks, they will always be there for Rodney. OMG, How did I ever forget about Bob Doherty, BFF. Carmella, I hope you stay muture through your term. You are much older and hopefully wiser from the years past when you were in office.

Mantello is and always has been a political WHORE. Funny that Wiltshire suddenly realizes this after making deals with her in the 2013 election. Mantello will make Kevin Glasheen earn his salary. Taxpayers and Supreme Court Justices beware: Mantello will sue the City every chance she gets. She will lose and appeal and lose the appeal. She will get attention and the City will have to pay for it.

  10. The irony of those now embracing Rodney and praising his knowledge is quite hilarious. The problem is that as I read the charter, he is correct. If this is indicative of how Carm will approach city business, it is troubling. If it is merely a stumble in returning the Council to a place of moderate competence in city government, it will be forgotten about in no time.

I voted for Carmzilla, can we have a do over. What is her problem? If she can ruffle so many feathers before even taking office, what do we have in store when she actually takes power? I will never vote for her again, and neither will anyone else. Good leaders unite, they don't divide. She's a disgrace!

8:17 It's not about changing a meeting. It's about introducing yourself to your co-workers and the people who elected you. It's about your first move being high-handed, dumb and laughably tedious, then not backing off when people point that out. And yes, people will forget about this very quickly because there is sure to be more shenanigans to come.

Gary and Lou used the 3 H's? Gary was implicated and indicted for voter fraud and also owes the State 30K plus for defrauding on unemployment insurance. Lou conspires with Fitzy to screw the taxpayers and hides it from the council only to have it blow up in his face. BTW that could saddle the city with additional debt if the arbitrator sides with the PBA. Why don't we go to 2 H's, remove honesty?

    2. I hope we can eventually get our hands on a transcript of that arbitration hearing. I am dying to find out the rationale for Lou signing that agreement. On the surface, it makes zero sense. I am also rather stunned at the lack of interest it received after the initial release.

Why hasn't the new Corp council chimed in if this is so illegal? This is all perfectly legal that's why.

How is it legal? You need a clerk to call the meeting and give notice. The clerk hasn't. Perhaps the new corp counsel hasn't chimed in because he hasn't been confirmed by the counsel. He also knows this is council business, not the executive's issue.

The council. Who as a body must remove her at a meeting duly noticed pursuant to the open meetings law and the city charter. Which hasn't been done. Anything else?

With 32 comments on a hilarious story, I'm amazed no one has pointed out the obvious: This isn't Carmella's first rodeo. She's been on the council and she's been through this before. She should know firsthand the rules for calling an official meeting, and also what makes an illegal meeting under NYS law. And still she's pulling this shit.
