ELECTION BEAT

MADDEN SCHOOLS OPPONENTS

Democrat Pat Madden took a few hits at the mayoral debate from both his opponents, Republican Jim Gordon and WFP candidate Rodney Wiltshire. The topic: TRIP finances. Madden, of course, is the top dog at the Troy Rehabilitation and Improvement Program. A cursory glance at some TRIP financials shows a the not-for-profit running a deficit. Madden's opponents took the opportunity to pounce on this fact. However, here, Madden explains how to read such numbers. Hopefully, in the event of a Gordon or Wiltshire victory, Madden will be available at budget time.

This is why you always look into an attack line before using it.

Of course, TRIP can't be run too poorly. The Gordon campaign has used campaign funds to donate to the organization.

NEW EXPENSE ADDED TO PROPOSED BUDGET

The Troy City Council Finance Committee announced that it will set aside an additional $45,000 in reserve funds in anticipation of a Gordon victory. The additional funds will be allocated to the purchase of seven...

To be placed at various locations throughout City Hall.

DOMESTIGATE

We are tired of saying 911 Tape, Gordon 911 Tape...We have settled on "Domestigate", a word we hope encapsulates the call, the illegal release of the call, the contradiction between Gordon's version and the call and the ongoing investigation. As Domestigate  continues, a thought occurred to us. If the recording was copied via a phone, why wasn't it copied as a simple audio file? Why does it look like it was filmed in order to capture the audio? Does this reflect the age of the individual(s). Over fifty, perhaps?  Also, if we were doing it, we'd plan ahead and use a spouse's phone or the friend's phone. Just sayin'.

I have to admit, the 'gate' on the back of every scandal is tired but Domestigate is genius.

It's becoming quite apparent that after a new blog offering the first or second poster uses the word "genius". Bill, stop the self gratification.

You're the last person to criticize anyone for self-gratification, Kevin. Go pay your taxes. Do it for Samantha.

I agree with 'Bill.' Genius. By the way, any of you repubs going to condemn Gordon or is what he did OK. I'll condemn any crime, including the release of the tape. Those cops should be punished. Everett should get convicted. Now, how about you guys. Is holding your wife down and scaring her so much she calls 911 OK with you?

If it is, that's fine. That's your belief. We'd all like to hear what a Gordon supporter has to say.

By the way, the emergency phones, genius.

Although I,m not going to vote for Gordon, I'll go with the pollice follwing up on the incident and finding no further action was nessary. The patrol officers did not take any action agaisnt Gordon and the domestic violence guys followed up and took no action.

The only ones that know what happened are the Gordons, but the next best judgement has to be left to police who do not get enough creidt for having to deal with all know nds of domestic incidents. I suppose the wife could have been piissed not scared, She could have been mad enough to start smacking him and he did hold her down to make her stop. She never said he hit her. He couldn't hear both siide of the 911 phone call but did leave when she told the 911 operator that what she wanted. It would have been better to leave than hold her down but that would be thinking ahead rather than a quick reaction.

All speculation, but I thiink your question was is it OK to hold your wife down , so my answer is in self defense ,of course it is. It would be better to run, but as quick reaction It''s got to be OK.

So why did she call 911 if she wasn't scared and didn't need help? Are you suggesting she called 911 because she was angry and wanted to embarrass or punish her husband? If so she needs to admit her mistake and reimburse the taxpayers. If not, he should have been arrested based on her allegations in the call. Pick one.

    12:16 You pick your own

She doesn't need to do anything and he would have been arrested if he did anything illegal.. The case was investagated at the time and the authorities said no further action was nessary. No paying for the 911 call, no admitting mistakes, no arrests. Did you hear that you Dems, NO ARRESTS. Tell your campaign people it can be done.

The case wasn't "investagated" at all, nitwit. Listen to the tape. If her allegations are true, it's a crime. If they aren't, she lied. I know it's tough when your IQ is below freezing, but try to keep up.

I like Domestigate. Excellent shorthand for this farce. Wonder what the state GOP thinks they are pouring money into the race. Talk about the war on women.

Does Gordon know how to read a spreadsheet? I Have a bad feeling this guy will win unless the Wiltshire people ce out and endorse Madden. They can have it out with Wade later. This is too important.

Not here to argue but it was investigated, That's why the tape was initially handed over to TPD. After the follow up by detectives no charges were filed. You can now blame, the cops, Mrs. Gordon, the chief or the bogey man if you like. To say it wasn't investigated shows you're the nitwit. Nitwit.

No charges, even though a crime was committed. Interesting isn't it. Maybe we should ask the Chief of Police why not. Either way it doesn't change what Gordon did.

Domestigate will play out however. Back to the matters at hand. Madden just endorsed by Gillebrand. More impressive than endorsement for Gordon by Astorino and Wiltshire's endorsement by Zalewski.

Imagine if that 911 Tape involved a Democratic candidate.
It would be on every Republican mailer and every piece of literature, regardless of how the tape was released.
If you Republicans are actually as confident about this election as your comments suggest, you are all in very deep denial.
    Keep jerking yourselves off.

It's only 3 republicans posting over and over. The same 3 who bash this blog are the same 3 who support Gordon. "Overwhelming" involvement in blogs and neighborhood groups is how Jeff Pirro put it in his famous top secret release 5 years ago. Pirro should have wrote about what dish detergent gets pots and pans cleaner down at Dinosaur

Why did Brendan Lyons run around handing out letters to the media telling them to stop using the 911 tape on there broadcasts?

Bullshit. If so why would he keep it up? Lyons hasn't broken any laws. You should worry more about women and less about your candidate.

I'm starting to feel sexually violated by your misogynistic tone in your words. I would like an order of protection to keep you off this blog. I'm calling 911 as soon as I can get the baby to cry.

Karma is catching up with people that have been doing dirty things. One who looks to expose a stolen 911 tape, and yet i wonder where the recording is of him from years ago? Tucked away in a safety deposit box?
